OTHER WORK

Gruss Vom Krampus Christmas card

A nice subversion of the typical Christmas card.

'Howl at the Moon'

I wanted to explore a couple of different techniques and came up with a Halloween twist on 50's diner signs. The aged metallic look gives it some dirt, too.

'Freak Show'

I couldn't find many good Halloween decorations in the shops, so I thought "why not make my own?" I've always liked starburst backgrounds, and old fairground signs always have great fonts - not to mention that they have a creepy feel to them. I used a displacement map for the aged wood and peeled paint look.

'Hellraiser' and 'Saw' greetings cards

Valentine's and birthday cards based on iconic horror films, including an 8-Mile / Saw mashup based on the scene during which the audience meets Young John Kramer, and the only difference is that he's wearing a baseball cap backwards.

Luna and Freddy

A fun project featuring my two cats, dressed up to the nines (lives).

Lockdown birthday card

Birthday card for my better half featuring the meme of the year, a joke about lockdown ruining everything and Clay Davis of The Wire offering some consolation for another successful rotation around the sun.

Superstars of drag

Greeting cards created featuring some of the most revered drag queens in the world - Bianca Del Rio, Valentina, Biqtch Puddin' and the Boulet Brothers - in pop art and 80's B-Movie styles.

Pokemon Go tickets

A fun gift for my girlfriend's nephew.

'Open Wounds'

Mixed media and distressed artwork based on a photo of Grenfell Tower, created in Photoshop.

Bah humbug

Christmas card design featuring a hero of cult cinema, Tommy Wiseau.

Alternate Peanuts

A series created by merging the worlds of Charles Schultz's sublime Peanuts cartoon strips and existential lyrics by artists such as Arab Strap, Joy Division and The Smiths.

Mental health on social media

Influenced by BoJack Horseman, two alternate books with a wry, tongue-in-cheek commentary about the manifestation of people's mental health issues on social media.

New York subway light

A personal project in which I made a New York subway sign, using the iconic Helvetica typeface. I subsequently created a light.
